Charnock Ridgeway go back to winning ways in rapid style with a comfortable 3-0 win over #Born Ballers, keeping title dreams afloat after the fatal loss against Darnall.

With 8 games left to go on the season, it was important to Charnock that a bounce back was necessary, and they fulfilled their goals with a fast yet controlled performance.

“We dominated the ball”, Parker stated post-match, “Dictated when we wanted to score and when we didn’t.”

It wasn’t all controlled to begin with, as in the first couple moments of Charnock’s chances, Harry Middleton managed to win a penalty resulting in players nominating him

to take his chance and boost his confidence after his last couple of games.

Luck was not on his side as the keeper managed to stop the shot.

But this didn’t stop Charnock as soon after Dylan Williams opened the goal fest which was then followed by Charlie Spick dancing around the keeper for the second.

And Tom Ford hitting the nail in the coffin with a third securing a good first half display, Parker on the other hand still wasn’t satisfied with the overall performance.

“Parts of second half, we went slower. Could have done better. We had star players in game today when we should be scoring more goals.”

Subs were made and it was in Charnock’s hands to showcase their talent in an already dominated game. However, the tempo had dropped and as the pitch’s conditions has got

worse, it had disrupted their momentum.

“Disappointed really because you always want to keep your levels high up… League might be come down to goal difference.”

Both the manager and players still do have strong beliefs in their pursuit to first with the next game going against Norton Inn who are below them in the league currently.

“We should be taking at least nine points… should win all our games. "With no problems.”

The manager had also gone back to the penalty disaster addressing the misunderstanding in the set piece taking issue.

“I think Chaz [Charlie Spick] wanted to boost Harry’s momentum up.”

“Get him to be more confident, but obviously it didn’t work because we did miss the penalty.”

It was a moment that underlined the team’s unity, even if the outcome didn’t go their way.

Spick overall managed to gain the spotlight, earning man of the match with goal and an assist contribution in the win.

“Chaz is always unbelievable… he was up scoring, down defending, tackling, that’s the reason he won man of the match.”

The captain has always been in high regard to Dom Parker and knows what he can bring to the team.

“He’s a player what we need, he’s a key player for everyone around him boosting their confidence.”

The final stretch is here and Charnock despite the loss last week are still in the title race, and the bounce back today will be a key foundation in closing the gap for future games to come.
