Charnock’s 2nd place hopes are on thin ice as they lose 4-1 to 7th place FC Spartak. With missed opportunities and lack of team spirit, their wish for the 2nd spot lies in the hands of other fixtures in play.

The match began with difficulties, with Marvin Gabou being forced off early through injury which reduced Charnock’s attacking possibilities massively.

With a bare eleven players on the pitch and one sub, they lacked to find rhythm or any momentum going on attack.

“Absolutely terrible!” Parker full of frustration evaluating the players’ performance,

“They just didn’t look bothered to be fair.”

Composure on the ball was missing and therefore there was no team cohesion in attack or defence. FC Spartak consistently continued pushing Charnock’s defence back and it was imminent that they would get a goal soon.

It was evident in the second half when FC Spartak would capitalise on Charnock’s mistakes and score four goals becoming more clinical with their errors.

Bladen Bamford, who had a strong performance amongst the players was quick to identify the issue going into the game.

“There's been games where we've shown up and we've fought for each other and we've wanted to win.”

“But I think lack of communication with each other was the biggest disappointment today."

Consolation did come on time as Jack Sutton subbed on after Harry Middleton’s injury won and scored a penalty, but the performance alone couldn’t see any comeback from it.

This loss rings alarm bells going into their last game and their position in the league is vulnerable.

“Our second-place spot now… is under…”

“I want a better performance than today and to go and get the last three points of the season.”

And as they pay a visit to Born Ballers in the last game of the season, Charnock need to dig find the fighting spirit one more time to end the season on a high note.
